Film Detail

Hotel For Dogs (2009)
Comedy/Family
Two foster kids and their lovable mutt have adventures in a deserted hotel when they flee the law for a crime they did not commit and come across more stray dogs.  They decide to run a more humane alternative to the city pound.

'Hotel For Dogs' is a family film about a brother and sister who set up a more humane alternative to the city dog pound in a deserted and run-down hotel.  The film contains mildly scary moments, mild language and slapstick violence.

There are some scary moments as the heroes enter the abandoned hotel for the first time.  However, a looming shadow is quickly revealed to be a small dog and the tension disappears.

The mild language includes two uses of 'crap' and three uses of 'screw', in a non-sexual context.

The slapstick violence occurs at the film's climax and culminates in a child character delivering a kick to the baddie's groin.  However, the action is masked and the scene is comic.

As the logistics of their task grow there is also some mild toilet humour, with regards to the dogs' waste.

'U' stands for Universal, which means that we think the film is suitable for audiences aged four or older.
