U stands for 'Universal', meaning the film, video or DVD is suitable for anyone. Examples include Happy Feet 2 and Arthur Christmas and Puss in Boots.
PG stands for 'Parental Guidance', which means that some parts of the film might not be ideal for younger children. Parents ought to think carefully before letting them watch. An examples of a PG films is The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret
of the Unicorn.
12 is now only ever seen on videos and DVDs. As with the 12A, it tells parents that the content is best suited for those aged 12 and above. Examples, both of which were certified 12A for cinema, includeIron Man 2 and Avatar.
12A is only for films released at the cinema. It tells parents that the film is best suited for those aged 12 and above. Parents can take along under 12s if they choose, so long as they go with them! Examples include Twilight - Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and Real
Steel.
15 means that the film, video or DVD is really only suitable for those aged 15 or above. Only people aged 15 or older are allowed to view a 15 rated film at the cinema or buy or rent a 15 rated DVD, video or game.
18 means that the film, video or DVD is only suitable for adults (people aged eighteen or over). Only adults are allowed to view an 18 rated film at the cinema or rent or buy an 18 rated video, DVD or game.

Boris the Animal, an alien criminal, escapes jail on the moon and goes back in time to kill the young Agent K in 1969, thus altering the timeline and changing the Agency. This places earth in extreme danger, so veteran Agent J must travel back to before the murder, and work with the young Agent K to save him, the Agency, and earth itself.

A young crown prince, feeling unloved by his cold mother and trapped by his onerous royal responsibilities, craves freedom and a meaningful relationship. This desire becomes represented by a beautiful male swan.

Documentary.
Documentary following the different ages of the dinosaur, starting 250million years ago and ending some 60 million years ago. All the time the threat of annihilation hangs over their heads, and this is shown as a meteor crashes into the Earth, wiping out all the large creatures.

Young Zoe - who has been mute since her police captain father was killed by the villain Victor Costa - is the owner of Dino the cat, who brings her presents from his nocturnal ramblings. But by night Dino works with Nico, an acrobatic burglar with a kind heart.

When Snow White's mother dies in childbirth, her loving father gives her a very happy childhood. But this changes when he disappears in the woods, and his beautiful new bride sends Snow White away to be killed; luckily she escapes to live with the seven dwarves.

Ash, a promising American dancer, embarrasses himself in front of a street dance team called Invincible at a street battle. He therefore travels Europe to gather the best street dancers and even persuades two Latin dancers to join with him, to try and triumph at a major competition.

The rescue operation of three grey whales in Alaska is initiated by Rachel Kramer, a Greenpeace activist. The rapidly snowballing media coverage captures the public imagination and politicians and governments find that they have no option but to support the rescue mission.
Adventure.
Teenager Sean Anderson receives a secret message, apparently from his missing explorer grandfather. It is decoded by his ex-Navy stepfather Hank and reveals that a mythical island does after all exist, so they go on a mission together to find his grandfather.
Comedy/Family.
Widowed father Benjamin moves his troubled adolescent son Dylan and young daughter Rosie to a run down zoo, using his life savings to successfully re-open it. Although it's set in Southern California, the film is based on the real experiences of the family-run Dartmoor Zoo in Devon.
Comedy/Drama.
An Australian drama about a famous dog who was loved in a small community, and who found his one true master in an American drifter, John. The film cuts between the night when Red Dog has been poisoned and is at death's door, and his past adventures.
