THE REEF 2 - HIGH TIDE is an animated sequel about a group of fish who must protect their environment from sharks.

Threat

The mild threat occurs during scenes in which the fish heroes are confronted by the sharks, who intend to feast on a 'fish buffet'. The main shark is introduced in the opening scene and he bares his teeth at the camera. The scenes in which the sharks chase the fish are not lengthy and the hero never seems in any doubt that he will survive. A dragon creature, representing the ocean's spirit, is large and roars but is fighting on the side of our heroes. As it is made of bubbles of water, there is no fire and the creature is not on screen for long.

Violence

Much of the violence is slapstick and, although the fish frequently hit each other, the fact the action is taking place in water removes any power from the blows. In one scene a shark is flung onto the deck of a ship. His skin is scratched and purple and he flaps about, before a man jabs him with a large syringe.

The film also contains some mild rude humour, with some fish belching and blowing snot bubbles.

THE MONUMENTS MEN is a drama about a platoon charged with rescuing works of art during World War II.

Violence

The moderate violence occurs mainly in two scenes. The first is when a man shoots at a German soldier inside a church and is then shot himself. Although there is no detail of the bullet impact, there is blood on his clothing and on a letter that he was holding at the time. In a later scene, one of the main characters is shot in the stomach after getting caught in a fire-fight.

Injury detail

Some blood is seen on the bodies and clothing of injured soldiers in field hospitals and on those treating them.

Smoking

Smoking occurs throughout the film, with a non-smoking character encouraged to smoke in one scene.

The film also contains some mild bad language.

Violence

There are many battle scenes, during which characters are injured or killed with only fleeting sight of blood or injury. Characters fight with pistols, rifles, knives and tomahawks. One scene features a character repeatedly hitting another in the face, but this is in reaction to cruel taunts and the attacker swiftly realises that his actions are morally wrong.

Sex

The film contains some mild sex references, such as when a character looks through pictures of scantily clad women on playing cards. No nudity is shown.

Violence

The film contains infrequent scenes of moderate violence, most notably an extended sequence in which the hero fights his main rival and some thugs. This includes people being kicked and punched, as well as people being hit with sticks and a shovel. At one point, a bottle and a metal bucket are smashed onto a man's head, and a sickle is held to a man's throat. There is some sight of bloody injuries to the hero's face and body. However, the blows are not very realistic and there isn't much emphasis on injury.

The film also contains Hindi and English uses of mild bad language. For more information about the film's language, grown-ups may visit the main BBFC website or download the free BBFC app.

Violence

The film includes reconstructions of a number of violent and abusive historical events, including clashes between police and protestors and sight of people being killed. In a rioting scene, a woman is pinned to the ground by a man. At another point, a woman is strip searched in prison and is seen to flinch as the guard reaches down towards her genitals. However, there is no sight of contact between the guard and the woman.

EPIC is an animated fantasy adventure about a girl who is shrunk to fairy-size. She becomes involved in the battle to save a forest from the forces of decay.

Violence

There are quite a few scenes of action violence, with the baddies and goodies facing off in battles. However, the violence is limited to arrows being fired and some clashes with tiny sticks and swords. There is no blood or injury detail. Most of the characters are fantasy creatures with super-human abilities and this reduces the impact and realism of any violence. The strongest scene shows a fairy character being shot with an arrow, which sticks in her side. There is no blood and the character's subsequent death simply sees her disintegrate into tiny particles of magic dust.

Threat

The moments of threat are brief and unlikely to upset young children. The baddie 'Boggan' characters are a bit creepy, with sharp teeth and outfits made out of rat skulls and skins. However, they are no scarier than the usual cartoon bad guys. In one scene, a good character is swarmed over by Boggans and left behind. We don't know what his fate is for some time, but he later reappears to join the fight and help save the forest. The scenes of mild fantasy violence and threat are well broken up by comic interludes.

Language

There is infrequent very mild bad language. More information about the language can be found on the main BBFC website or our free apps.
