THE BOOK OF HENRY is a US drama in which a boy needs his mother's help in a plan to save their young neighbour.

Theme

Part of the story is about child abuse. Characters are shown to be shocked by the abuse. There are also references to bruises on a girl's body. This issue is treated with discretion and no abuse is shown.

There are also some distressing scenes when an 11-year-old boy is diagnosed with a terminal illness and later, scenes tackling the theme of bereavement.

The main character is placed in a care facility after an incident in which he accidentally causes the death of his alcoholic mother, who behaved in a threatening manner towards him. One girl says her father is a 'creep' who is now in prison, and she has nightmares about him.
