Tom & Jerry: The Movie

Tom and Jerry are the world’s most famous enemies - their rivalry is legendary and we get to see more of their fighting and squabbling in this new film set in a luxury New York hotel.

Tom and Jerry is a well known cartoon. However, as you’ll see from the trailer, while Tom and Jerry remain cartoons, they interact with human characters. This means that the film blends animated action with ‘live action’, which is what we call films that are set in the real world and use real actors. Usually, animation tends to lessen the impact of what we watch on screen. Do you think it makes a difference to the age rating that the film is set in the real world? Does it make the violence seem more real? Think about these questions when watching the trailer and deciding what age rating to award it.
